Associated List Viewer


The Associated List Viewer is a SharePoint Add-in that allows you to easily configure Associated List Item Views of the SharePoint Lists and Libraries based on the business needs. The package contains an add-in part in which you can create easily and quickly customize the pages that contains the desired associated list views you wish to display as a consolidated format. The links to each Associated List View pages will be displayed in list item menu (ECB) of the parent list view. During configuration, you can find out all the associated lists throughout the site collection which has One-to-Many and Many-to-Many Relationships with the parent list. It also allows you to perform CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) operations not only on parent list view but also on each of configured associated list views.

How to use Associated List Viewer App Part

  • Go to any web part page in the SharePoint host web
  • Edit the page so you can add an app part.
  • Add Associated List Viewer app part to your page.
  • Go to edit mode of the app part.
  • Under Appearance section of the edit panel, enter blank in Title, select 'Normal' for Chrome State and select 'None' for Chrome Type.
  • Customize the app part in configuration page not in the edit panel while in Edit mode. See below section for detail configuration.
  • When done, click OK button on the edit panel.

How to configure Associated List Viewer App Part



  • Select any list or library and related views you wish to display in main (parent) grid view of app part.
  • If you want allow users to select view at runtime, keep “Display View Selector” checkbox checked which is default, otherwise select a specific view to display.
  • You can also customize whether to display CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) operation links shown in List Item Menu (ECB) of main grid.
  • Select the desired site you want to search the associated lists.
  • The configuration page will detect and find out all the associated lists under the selected site which has one-to-many and many-to-many relationships with the parent selected list.
  • Create Associated List View Collection Pages as many as you want. The links to these pages will be displayed in List Item Menu of the main grid.

  • The page contains three sections: page title, header and content. The header section is optional. It includes header section title and header section fields which you can select the fields from the parent list.
  • The content section can contains as many Associated List Views as you wish. Each ALV contains title which you can customize the display format and view which you can select it from available associated list views. The further detail setting of each ALV can be customize after you saved.
  • The page will display header section fields and Associated List Views according to the selected order.
  • In each associated list view, you can create new related items directly from the new item link shown on the top of each view at runtime. 

 How to configure detail setting of Associated List View




  • Click on Detail link shown in ALV collection Page Grid.
  • In Edit ALV Collection Page Content dialog, you can further customize the view to display and CRUD operation links.
  • The columns displayed, filtering applied, paging and sorting of each ALV can be customized by configuring the displayed list view of the associated list.
